Teatro Tariakuri, Theatre Co., was founded in 2004 by actress/director Karla Galvan  to address the lack of opportunities for spanish speaking  artists and other artists of color, and to explore the new work of Latino writers that challenged not only the actor and director, but also the audience.

In 2004, Tariakuri made her debut on stage with "En otoño los gatos tienen colita" an original comedy by Mexican writer Alejandro Licona at  village players theatre in Oak Park IL.

In 2005, Tariakuri formed their ensemble and theatre  in Pilsen IL, due to unforeseen circumstances closed after a short period. However Karla Galvan artistic director  and founder continued to produce shows around Chicago and Suburban areas catering to both Children and adults. Including " El mundo magico de cricri", " Mi pequeña vecindad" and many more.

Tariakuri is a full spanish speaking Adult ensemble, our mission is to promote our culture, and our education while entertaining our audience.
